The exploratory program at Auburndale Intermediate School is where students get instruction and hands on experience with different areas not typically focused on in the academic content courses. This program gives students exposure to exciting and challenging curriculum in three basic areas - Music, Art, and Technology.
The Trimester based courses provide exposure to content in the Art, Technology classes, and a third component - Guitar. Due to the high demand to learn how to play guitar, students in the trimester based courses get to learn theory, finger placement, chord development, and basic song techniques on acoustic guitar. This exciting component allows those students who would like to take art and computers the chance to incorporate music into their coursework.
